Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!!!
I for one am glad it's here.  Last year was a hard row to hoe.  Onward and upward I say!

I was hoping to have the second Evelina finished by now, but it's not quite there yet.  I'm working on it though.

The longer I write, the more I realize a story has a life of its own.  It grows and spins and turns at its own pace.  I'm just the messenger.

Here's hoping we all have a prosperous year, filled with health, happiness, and love.

'Keep on keepin' on!'

Hugs, Rachel

Tweets

I'm tweeting now.  Who knew?
And for some reason I can't get that 'rockin' robin' song out of my head.

But, despite this affliction, it's a great way to connect with my readers and fellow writers.
Check it out. Join me on twitter.

New Page

I created a fan page on Facebook.  I don't know if I'll ever need it.
But I thought, build it and they will come.  LOL The eternal optimist.  I guess that's why I'm a writer.

I was thinking the other day, I wonder if Mom still has that little blue smith corona I asked for for christmas in grade four. After watching the Waltons, I thought, wow, I'm just like John Boy Walton.  I'm a writer.  That's who I am. I used to type in the bath tub with a board across the tub to hide from my brother and sisters.

What a weird kid.  But I knew who I was.

Follow your star. You'll get where you need to be.

Spring Fever

It's spring.  Can you feel it?  There's So much to do my head is in a spin. Some days it's hard to concentrate.
So today I'm writing a love scene, set in France and I'm pretty much brain dead. I got nothin'. A knock comes to the door,( unusual since we live on an old victorian farm in the boonies). I open the door to find a black haired swarthy guy, who says, 'Hello I'm Raoul. I come from the French Riviera. I have some delicious seafood in the back of my truck. I stared at him thinking, are you kidding? LOL
God works in mysterious ways. Now the characters are just driving up the lane and knocking on the door.

Falling in Love

Falling in love.  It seems we can't get enough of it.  It's one of the most amazing experiences in our life. No wonder we love reading about it over and over and over again.

Writing romance has brought me great happiness, as well as tough challenges. But the power of love always brings me back - love of losing myself in the story, love of history, love for the great writers I've met along the way.  It's been an exciting journey, one that I hope never ends.

So back to the story,
Rachel

Home

Well, I'm back home and reality has set in. Spring has sprung. There's so much to do inside and outside, but I have to stick to a my writing schedule to keep the word count up and the story flowing.

My kingdom for some staff.  Cinderella is a very romantic character, but as they say, it's good to be Queen. At least, to pretend once a year on a short holiday.

Research Holiday

I'm painting my toes for a research holiday, though writers never rest.  The story's always percolating. Imagination is our drug.  That, and the gallons of caffeen I consume.  Ha!

I'm traveling to one of the oldest cities in North America, where the next Evelina is set.  I can't say more or it will ruin the writing buzz.  Okay, it's by water, after all she's a Water Witich.

I can't wait.  But, anticipation is half the fun. Right?

Time to shake out my sparkly suit for the plunge.

Love Never Lies

Ta! Da!
Love Never Lies is out.  The cover seemed to take longer for this one.  I guess everyone you do you get pickier and pickier. But, it's workin' for me.

Now, maybe I can concentrate on finishing the next Evelina.  I'm hoping to edit the western while the second Evelina rests.  The western has a few plot issues, but nothing that can't be fixed.  I still love the characters.  What's not to like about sexy cowboys?

Spring is calling but I must keep typing.  So many stories.  So little time.

Alpha Heros

Alpha Heroes- you gotta love them right. They're my choice of hero. You might not want to marry one, but they sure do make a great fantasy.

I mean, if I'm reading about a Viking or a knight, or a cowboy, he'd better be real.  I guess I like the excitement of the chase.  It's got to be fun, and romantic, and bigger than life for me to suspend my disbelief and escape into a book.

Funny, my Hubby never notices their outrageous behavior.  He'll, say, 'well that was a little harsh.  He did this because of this.  I think she should cut him a little slack.' Ha!

The Thief and the Rogue is published

The Thief and the Rogue is out there.  It's now published on kindle.  I've set it free.

I love the regency era.  I'm a huge Jane Austen fan. It's a very romantic era, as is the Medieval era and of course I love a good western.

Really- I love romance.

We're working on the cover for the next Medieval right now.  It's not quite there yet.  But, each cover we do I'm happier and happier with.  It's exciting being a part of the entire process.

Speaking of process, back to writing the next Evelina.

The Thief and the Rogue

I'm just about to launch The Thief and the Rogue on kindle.  It's a regency romance and a Golden Heart Finalist.

I'm really liking the cover, keeping with the weapon theme, since it's a story full of mystery and adventure.

I'm hoping to offer it free for a few days, so I'll keep you posted on that.

Evelina and the Time Pirates Reviews

Hi guys, I'm so thrilled that Evelina and the Time Pirates has some great reviews.  When I saw a review posted I was so excited, and then so terrified. My heart stopped and then started beating like mad. Did I mention terrified.  But I forced myself to read it.

I read the first one and then read it again.  Then, I started yelling and dancing around, 'Come and see this!   Come and see this!'  I know, silly, right? But, there are so many ups and downs in a writer's life.  You gots to do whats you gots to do.

My husband sauntered into the office and said, 'Oh yah, That's good.  I really like your historicals though.'

Which is great, but Evelina and Frankie's story keeps flowing out of my little pea brain.  I can't seem to stop it.  So, I've got to get it out.  Book two is coming faster than book one. (I'm sure they'll be at least three)

Well enough dancing, back to writing, which for me, is the biggest thrill of all.

Evelina and the Time Pirates

Hi folks,
I'm so excited.  I just launched my young adult fantasy on Amazon Kindle, 'Evelina and the Time Pirates'. It's PG and a whole lot of good clean fun.   It's written for teens, but I think adults will enjoy it too.

I debated whether I should have a separate blog and another pen name. But, let's face it.  I can hardly keep up with this one.  I need time to write.

I'm working on another Evelina.  This series has been so much fun to do.  I don't see it ending anytime soon. Though my husband said after reading it,'I like your historicals better'.  Which is great, however, I still have Evelina's story rolling around in my head.  So, I've got to get it out.  Oh well, haters gotta hate, right.  Ha!!!

While I'm working on a new Evelina, I`m also getting three other historical romances ready to publish.

Workie Workie Nosey grindstone!

  Happy New Year Everyone!
